Orginal Gulzar Urdu/Hindustani lyrics with English translation:
Tere bina aindagi se koyi, shikwa to nahin, shikwa nahin...
without you, there will not be any complaints about life...
Tere bina zindagi bhi lekin, zindagi to nahin...
Without you my life will not be a life at all...
Jee mein aata hai, tere daaman mein, sar jhuka ke ham, roteh rahin...
My heart feels like resting, bowing my head on your lap, and cry on...
Teri bhi aankho Mein, aansuon ki, nami to nahin,
Your eyes are not dry either,
Kaash aisa ho tere qadmon se, chun ke manzil chale, aur kahin, door kahi...
Wish I could pick up the destiny by following your foot-steps, and go elsewhere too far,
Tum gar saath ho, manzilo ki, kami to nahin...
If you are with me, there are many destinations...
Tum jo keh do to aaj ki raat, chaand doobega nahin,
raat ko rok lo...
If you say so, tonight the moon will not go away, stop the night...
Raat ki baat hai, aur zindagi baaqi to nahin...
Only a matter of night, there is no life left...

Along with Mukesh and Mohammed Rafi, he dominated Indian film playback music from the 1950s to the 1970s. Kumar also achieved notable success as a lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter and scriptwriter.
Kishore Kumar was a prolific vocalist and sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarati, Kannada, Bhojpuri, Malayalam and Oriya. He is also widely regarded as the most versatile singer in the history of Indian cinema and a maverick of sorts for lending his voice to songs that did not conform to the norms of the day.
In October 1987, he died following a massive heart attack. He had been married four times and is survived by his two sons Amit Kumar, who made his career in playback singing in Bollywood and Bengali films, and Sumit Kumar.
